Easter Sunday at Pilgrim!

By March 31, 2021April 7th, 2021No Comments

On Easter Sunday join us for a wonderful Festival Worship service including our Chancel Choir at 10:30 am via Zoom!

For our Easter collection this year, your Mission Committee asks for your help combatting food insecurity.  The statistics are surprising – 59 percent of American adults will spend at least one year below the official poverty line, there are more poor Americans living in the suburbs than in central cities, and experiencing food insecurity is far more likely for America’s poor than for the impoverished in any other high economy country – all statistics which predate this terrible pandemic.

We will donate half of the collection to the Lexington Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry https://www.lexingtonfoodpantry.org, all volunteers (including many Pilgrims) serving the families of Lexington since 1990. The other half of the collection will go to the MHSA / Bristol Lodge Pantry
https://www.mhsainc.org/foodpantry all in need are welcome as the Middlesex Human Services Agency serves Waltham and communities nearby.  Many will recall Pilgrim’s long history serving meals at Bristol Lodge.

There are two ways you can contribute to the Easter Special Offering: a) by mailing a check to the church with Easter Offering in the memo line or b) by giving online at https://pilgrimcongregational.org/learning-growing-caring/giving/ with the note “Easter Offering.”

Thank you.
