Reuse Toys Mission Moment
The topic of this Mission Moment is: Reuse to help the Planet, Reuse to help a Child
Producing any product uses energy. In trying to use less energy for the good of the planet, there is a movement called: Reuse, Repair, Recycle.
What do you do with children’s toys that are not brand new but are in good shape? Not items you want to keep because they are special, but unused toys that still have life in them. Almost no organization, like Morgan Memorial, will accept toys as donations.
An organization called NuDay Syria would very much like to have those toys for local refugee children. NuDay Syria will even accept even stuffed animals which can be washed! Please gather what you can. Ask your friends and neighbors. Leave these toys in our coat room. In the summer there will be a plastic box outside the front door of the church in which you can put the toys. Do not buy new toys for the good of our planet! This is an exercise in Reusing existing toys. They will be much valued by the kids who are waiting for them.
